New Mexico Human Service Department, in collaboration with Health Management Associates, presents information about the development of a Primary Care Alternative Payment Model (APM). The vision and approach for this initiative center on improved healthcare quality and health status of New Mexicans, equitable and team-based care (with a model that allows flexibility and is tied to quality), Medicaid market power to drive reform, reducing provider burden and strengthening the workforce, learning from and leverage Medicare VBP efforts, and leveraging information sharing and HIE to connect providers.
